The faculty at Arts Integra offer consistent high quality training, using quality repertoire and musically sound teaching techniques while instilling in students an understanding of the structure of music in a nurturing student-centered environment.
Students begin to read and write music through iconic and traditional notation in a wide variety of repertoire, furthering their technical development and communication skills. Purposeful, engaging and age-appropriate musical activities provide a strong foundation for the development of coordination, flexibility and listening skills, complimenting communication, memory, mathematics, reading and literacy.
Teachers impart rehearsal strategies combining skills and knowledge to encourage the development of healthy daily practice techniques, fostering self-sufficiency and discipline in the student.
Beginning to intermediate students are enrolled in an individual lessons, while advanced students may be invited to take part in chamber ensembles and Master Classes in addition to their regularly scheduled lessons.
Students are given many opportunities to perform throughout the year, and those who have prepared for competitions or examinations may be able to perform in a full-length solo or split recitals, allowing friends and family to share in their enjoyment and experiences.
According to the Ontario Education Act of 1980, vol12, p802,
“A child is excused from attendance at school if…the child is absent from school for the purpose of receiving instruction in music and the period of absence does not exceed one-half day in any week…” |
