Mary Chiu is an outstanding Pianist, Choral Singer, and Music Educator.
Mary began playing piano at age 3, and was accepted into the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts by the time she was 9 where she received intense training in Piano Performance. Mary continued this immense success at such a young age by obtaining her ARCT diploma in Piano performance with distinction by the age of 17.
Mary has participated in numerous Concerts and Festivals throughout Ontario and has repeatedly been a winner at various music competitions, including the Canadian Music Festival and the Kiwanis Music Festival.
Currently, Mary is an experienced and professional chorister with the world-renowned Toronto Mendelssohn Choir and the associated chamber group Mendelssohn Singers. The choir performs frequently in the Greater Toronto Area, and is well known for putting on the "best Messiah in town" every year during the Christmas season.
This is Mary's fourth year as a faculty member at the Arts Integra Centre for Music and the Arts, where she is committed to making music learning an enjoyable experience for students of all ages. |
