How does one prepare for and what is expected from a singer at a vocal audition?
Participants will learn about various types of auditions from Opera, Oratorio, Concert work, New Music, to Broadway and beyond.
Included are answers about what a singer can expect when they walk into an audition, as well as discussion about appropriate repertoire and attire for the moments before an audition panel.
Everyone is encouraged to bring forward any audition experience they may wish to share with others, as well as a list of Questions they may like to have answered.
Participants will then perform a variety of repertoire during a “mock audition” from one of the styles of music noted above.
Students are expected to dress in what they think is appropriate attire for the style of their audition based on the repertoire chosen.
