Alexander Technique

 

Through lack of knowledge we often attempt to move our bodies from our misconceptions rather than from reality.

A basic understand of the location and action of our major bones, joints, muscles and organs help us to avoid unnecessary effort and interference, and to perform with
greater freedom, pleasure and creativity.

Using various visual aids, and our own bodies we will explore our potential for greater ease of movement and support.

Participants will examine the basic principals of the Alexander Technique and their relevance to Vocal Technique for the singer.

The Alexander Technique emphasizes the importance of self-observation. How to recognize and to prevent harmful habits
that restrict us physically and mentally, and how to change these unconscious patterns, that have developed over the
years.
