Dawn Bailey is a graduate of the University of Toronto's Bachelor of Music
in Voice Performance program.
She is an active performer in Toronto, having sung with the Toronto
Consort, Tafelmusik Chamber Choir, the Sine Nomine Ensemble for
Medieval Music, Exultate Chamber Singers, and the St. James' Cathedral
Choir, among others. She has also performed internationally with
ensembles in England, Wales, South Africa, Namibia, Germany, and the
United States.
At age sixteen, she took her first yoga class as part of a vocal masterclass,
and soon afterward she began to explore the deeper connections between
yoga and the voice. Her yoga and meditation practice became a more
serious part of her life when she entered university, and as the benefits of
regular practice started to become apparent in all areas of her life, she
decided that it was important to pass these teachings on to others, especially
to other singers.
Dawn has given seminars on Yoga and the Singer at the University of
Toronto in addition to the Summer Program for Emerging Artists at Arts
Integra Centre for Music and the Arts. She is a certified Jivamukti Yoga
teacher as well as a Voice teacher, understanding the needs of singers from
a very unique individual perspective. Dawn continues to share her gifts
with others as she conduct weekly group & private yoga classes to students
from all walks of life.
